Shopping in Valencia

Fun, pretty, and affordable. In the center of Valencia, you only need to take a little stroll to discover numerous shops where you can find a variety of clothing and accessories. We begin the tour in Valencia’s Golden Mile, the most luxurious area, and end up in the Barrio del Carmen, one of the most charming neighborhoods of the city.

Valencia’s Golden Mile is the most exclusive area, with shops by top international and national brands. Every major city has its main shopping street: Madrid has Serrano Street, New York has Fifth Avenue, London has Oxford Street, and Dublin has Grafton Street. Well, Valencia’s Golden Mile is made up of the streets around the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas. The most important and prestigious shops are spread among streets like Salvá and Miñana, the Plaza del Patriarca, and the corner of García Sanchis and Poeta Querol. Along these streets you will find outposts for Hermenegildo Zegna, Carolina Herrera, Lladró, Montblanc, Loewe, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, and Hermes. So you see now that Valencia can hold its own among Madrid, Barcelona, London, Milan, Paris, or New York.

The Boulevard de Don Juan de Austria is also famous pedestrian zone known for its shopping. Packed with terraces and stores for accessories, this street is ideal for shoes, bags, and other trinkets. It offers lots of variety and an interesting price-quality relationship. And if you get bored walking along the streets, you can also go check out the Boulevard Austria, a mini mall of which Valencians are quite proud. Inside there aren’t that many shops, but they are always full. A good example is the Tous jewelry store, whose customers are loyal. Nearby, in Colón Street, one of the busiest streets due to the type of stores that call it home: Pull & Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Zara, Mango Pimkie. This lively area is usually always full of young people and that makes it special. It is rather long, however, so I recommend just strolling up and down: that’s the best way to find a bargain.

The Barrio del Carmen is the most charming and most bohemian neighborhood of the city. Its narrow streets and colorful shops attract thousands of tourists every year. In addition to finding typical souvenir shops, you will also discover small traditional shops that are full of character. I assure you that you will stop at each one just to see what makes it unique. It makes you feel like haven’t seen the same product anywhere else. In particular I recommend entering USED, in Quart Street, which is a thrift store.  In A la Vespa Roja, in Bolseria Street, you’ll find vintage clothing. You can also find this in Santo Spirito Vintage, in Alta Street, which is a very cool and well-priced store. And finally, don’t miss stopping in at Madame Bugalú, in Danzas Street, where all the clothes they sell have found inspiration in the past. As you already know, vintage fashions are modern because they are cyclical and always return.
