The Museo del Prado presented the exhibition ´French Masters of the Clark Collection´ and, after its incredible success due to being visited daily by over four thousand people during its whole exhibition time, it will arrive at CaixaForum in Barcelona, where it will present more than 73 works from the 17th of November until the 12th of February 2012. In the exhibition you´ll be able to enjoy the majority of the most important impressionist artists among which we find Renoir, Monet, Degas, Manet, Morisot, Pisarro, Bonnard, Corot, Gauguin, Sisley, Toulouse-Lautrec and Gerôme among others. The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute is one of the few institutions in the whole planet which not only has an astonishing quantity of works, but which also carries out post-degrees and investigations on visual art. The legacy of the marriage conformed by Sterling and Francine Clark has an incalculable value and its institute is considered as one of the most relevant ones in the whole world. Many students and fans of knowledge go to this prestigious place to learn the best techniques. ´French Masters of the Clark Collection´ is an exhibition which is being presented around the world in the most important museums. As well as having been in the Prado, it was also in the Picasso Museum, where it topped 200,000 visitors, the Palazzo Reale in Milan and in the Giverny Impressionists Museum. After being presented in the CaixaForum in Barcelona until the 12th of February of 2012, it will carry on towards the Kimbell Art Museum in Texas and, after, in the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Sadly it says a lot about our time and civilization that the only drugs that are legal are those that cloud the mind and intelligence. Under absurd and hypocritical mottos (can we not label as drugs – and many of them strong ones, if there was any sense from the slightest intellectual strictness to make the famous and biased distinction between hard and soft drugs – tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, medicines…?) such as zero tolerance to all types of drugs, not only do we condemn an unfair and unnecessary social stigma to a large part of the world population, also insulting history and human intelligence, but we also stop people who out of free will decide to consume illegal substances from accessing a minimum quality control, which causes many thousands of tragic accidents every day which are perfectly avoidable. And if all of this nonsense wasn´t enough, the fact is still that political prohibitions, an attempt to attack the individual right of deciding freely regarding what only concerns one self and distance ourselves from the possibility of building and accessing a necessary culture to do with the ways in which our body reacts to certain existent substances, have not only solved the so called ´drug problem´ (drugs are still consumed massively all over the world) but we can also state that they´re the ones responsible for creating them. You could argue that it´s precisely since the existence of prohibition that there´s a social problem with drugs, and not the other way around. But, of course, prohibition allows the financing of armies, psychologists and entire police forces and civil servants...
