The Municipal House of Prague is a motive of pride to al Czechs because it´s very beautiful and one of the most important buildings that were constructed in the Art Nouveau style. The Torre del Oro in Sevilla is one of the most important monuments in the city and it was built with the intention of serving as a place so that the observers were alert to the arrival of possible enemies during the dynasty of Almohad around the area of the river Guadalquivir. It was built in the 13th century and, also, it was used as a prison during medieval time and as a place where they stored the precious metals that the fleets traded regularly (this is probably the real origin of its name according to different historians). The tower is divided in three different floors. The third one was added in 1760 and it´s completely circular and united at the time of its construction through the wall with the Torre de la Plata, that still stands today. São Carlos Theatre is the house of the great Opera of Lisbon. Its construction took place in the 18th century, after the original Opera House in the city (located on Commerce Square) was destroyed by a strong earthquake that, sadly, destroyed many old buildings in the city. The new Opera House of Lisbon, of neoclassic style, is located on Serpa Pinto street. Its façade is very striking and characteristic because it simulates a fortress rather than a theatre and its walls are strong, thick and resistant so that they can still stand if another earthquake hits the city. In its interior, São Carlos Theatre looks a lot like the St Carlo Theatre in Naples. It presents five galleries and it´s all decorated in neoclassic and rococo style.
