MACRO Contemporary Art Museum

Another of the many museums that Rome has is the Museo d´Arte Contemporanea di Roma, known as MACRO, which is located where, previously, the Peroni brewery used to be but was reconstructed in 1999 so that it could convert into the museum that we can visit today.   The conversion and reconstruction of the adjacent buildings was taken into place by the renown French architect Odile Deco who devised the project that ended up turning MACRO into a place which has no less than 10 thousand sq metres plus space for exhibitions.   There is a section of the museum called MACRO al Mattatolo that was basically created with the intention of presenting the new, experimental and different cultural activities. The idea, with it being a contemporary art museum, was to give the new artists a place to present their works.   One of the most interesting things about MACRO is that it opens from 4pm until midnight and, being in the area that it is, at that time the bars and clubs slowly start to fill up with people, which turns the place into quite a peculiar location.   MACRO is one of the newest and most interesting museums in the city and you can´t let the chance to visit it escape. You can rent apartments in...
