NEOCAB Paris

There´s nothing worse than being in an unknown city and having to get around with public transport. The worst problem of all is, regardless of whether they abide to their timetables or not (which many times isn´t the case), is to know where to get off or get on exactly, and getting it wrong is commonplace. Paris is a city where getting confused is normal because it´s immense, and making combinations and choosing the right way is a real gamble. For this reason, one of the best options to get around is with a taxi. One of the biggest and most famous companies in the city is NEOCAB, who is in charge of sending vehicles to wherever you´re staying at -even if you´re in the street- and will take you to your destination in a matter of minutes. Also, they have hybrid cars which, despite being a bit more expensive, they´re more environment friendly. They also have special services in the vehicles, such as the Internet and iPads, so you can surf the web, send e-mails, visit social networks and anything you may need. Because getting around won´t be a problem, now all you have to do is rent apartments in Paris and enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the whole...
The Museum of Desires in Vienna

The Museum of Desires in Vienna

The prestigious MUMOK collection in the Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Trust in Vienna covers most of the twentieth century and is comprised of an estimated nine thousand works. It contains works from disciplines as diverse as graphics, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, video art, film, furniture design and architecture. As a collection it is more than worth a visit, in particularly for its formidable collection of material relating to the 1960s. There is an abundant and highly representative selection of art from this decade, from highly stimulating movements of the era such as New Realism, Fluxus, Pop art and artists such as Hermann Nitsch, Rudolf Schwarzkogler, Günter Brus and Otto Mühl. Another notable feature of the institution is its interest in further improving the collection of mostly recent work of audiovisual and photographic character. The Museum of the desires http://www.mumok.at/programme/exhibitions/museum-of-desires/?L=1, open until next January 8 and created by Karola Kauss, the flamboyant new director of the centre, is intended as a tribute to both the past and the present. It presents a series of pieces which are large in both size and depth, and which serve as a basis for the future collecting policy of the institution. The exhibition has been developed with the fundamental precept of presenting the museum to the public as a flexible entity that wishes to remain perpetually open to change and the outside world. The idea, supported by an innovative presentation of the MUMOK collection, is part of a dynamic strategic campaign which aims to acquire new works that the museum would like to have and which serves to set the future direction of the collection...

9 / 11, 10 years later

What happened on September 11 was beyond the human tragedy and understanding. Thousands of lives lost to a violent act, which affected the whole world, and indeed, we still live the consequences until today, without having been able to control or improve the political situation in the United States. Therefore, the effect of World Trade Center bombing reverberated like a wave of fear and violence for most of the world. What Bush called his “War on Terror” continues to this day despite changes of government, the Obama administration and beyond. The execution of Saddam Hussein, the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, none of these deaths finally resolves the large scar left in the collective unconscious of September 11. In addition to the deaths of thousands of people, September 11 is probably the best prepared terrorist operation in the history. At a performative or conceptual level, the implementation of this operation is more complex than one can think. The date was chosen considering the 911 related to the emergency number used in the United States. What other way to get deeper into the collective unconscious so violently. The 911, is the number you dial in a country like America, where violence and access to weapons are daily meal. Each time you dial this number, people inevitably remember this horror day. Similarly, the World Trade Center with its two main towers is an allusion to that number, 11, two lines are set to high. The collapse of two towers, the fall of what they represent, as the columns of the global economy, now is the echo of the global crisis,...
