If you like enjoying very old objects that have a tremendous history, the National Archeology Museum in Madrid is one of the places that you must visit. It´s a place full of artefacts that go from prehistoric times until the Barroque.
One of the most important objects and that one that strikes the most is the statue called La Dama de Elche which is a primitive piece which dates from the year 4 AD, discovered on the southwest coast of Spain.
In the museum you can enjoy things that were found in places like Ibiza, Paestum and Rome, that include a statue of Tiberius and his mother Livia.
Many of the exhibitions are real treasures that were removed from churches and monasteries. One of the most photographed objects is undoubtedly an armchair of the Palacio de Palencia from the 14th century. It´s also worth seeing one of the reproductions of the paintings of Altamira that were discovered in the north of Spain in 1868.
You can walk through one of the most interesting museums in the Spanish city but before you should rent Madrid accommodation and not let escape the chance of walking through its galleries.
