That a theme park dedicated to the world´s most famous gaul is located in France is hardly a surprise. Asterix Park works revolves around the legendary comic book character, and it´s one of the best theme parks in Europe, behind Disneyland Paris.
It´s located only 36km from the city centre. If you´re travelling on the road (you can also get a bus), you have to take the exit from the A1.
It´s very well signposted. If you go past Junction 7, you can still access the park from Junction 8. There´s also a train from Gare du Nord which gets to Asterix Park. Always putting fun first and foremost, the park is divided by historical areas, and it tries to recreate the different cultures which populated ancient Europe.
The most popular area, of course, is the Gaul village where Asterix lived with all of his friends fighting the Roman Empire, but there are other rides which recreate the Middle Ages, ancient Paris or ancient Greece of the time of the great philosophers.
