The time for zoos to exhibit caged animals seems to fortunately be over, because the new initiatives, like this one in Valencia, Bioparc, are organized around more respectful practices with these creatures created by mother nature.
And so, in this Mediterranean natural park they have recreated different habitats that emulate large part of the ecologic spaces in Africa. In the 24 acres of land in this peculiar theme park you can see the sabana, Equatorial Africa with its wetlands, and a typical forest like those in Madagascar.
Giraffes, monkeys, gorillas, elephants, birds, lemurs or zebras coexist like if they were at home, because they´ve taken various African vegetation species so that the animals are not missing anything. Also, they´ve recreated to the last detail the legendary Kitum Cave, where elephants and rhinos enter looking for healthy minerals.
