Those tourists that arrive in Budapest and are history lovers can´t not go the the History Museum (Budapesti Történeti Múzeum in Hungarian) that goes from the Middle Ages until the current times, crossing through all the most important events in Hungary.
The museum is located in Buda Castle and, for that reason, it´s also popularly known as the Museum of the Castle and, also, it´s divided in four different floors. Three above ground and one below the basement.
THe collections that you can enjoy in the galleries go from simple objects that belonged to different important Hungarian people to completely recreated rooms of important places.
One of the most interesting things that the museum has is the subsoil which, despite not having any relevant artistic works, turns into the reconstructed corridors that were used after the bombings during the Second World War. Some of the most important are the Gothic Room and the Chapel which is truly beautiful.
