The National Museum of Prague, which is located in the Czech Republic, is an institution that was created with the intention of systematically preparing and publishing scientific and historical exhibitions. It was founded in 1818 by Kašpar Maria Šternberg and the famous historian František Palacký, who were but a few who were involved in this process.
Today, the National Museum holds over 14 million objects that go from natural history, history, music, art and a large library that distributed itself in each of the ten buildings.
The great importance that the museum has today, didn´t start until 1830 and 1840, when romanticism began to be more relevant and the institution began to acquire art collections of that style.
At the museum, you can enjoy objects related to mineralogy, paleontology, mycology, botanics, entomology, zoology, anthropology and also archeology.
The main building of the museum is housed at the end of Wenceslas Square and it´s a neo-renaissance construction created by the architect Josef Schulz between 1885 and 1891.
For these reasons, if you want to enjoy one of the most important museums in the city, you can rent apartments in Prague and stop wasting time.
