We are witnessing the decline of all common media. No, television radio, telecommunications and film are not going to disappear, it just happens that today we have more technology available that allows us to write, record and reproduce information on the web and other types of media. And due to that some governments are concerned about social media and its effects and possibilities. There is a phenomenon in social networks as well as the means of transmission of information via internet, be it YouTube or any other application to play music which should have us thinking about this amazing change of such sudden and unexpected appearance. The resolution of what we received today on our monitors are not necessarily appropriate, but what is the proper resolution? Sure, the resolution of a vinyl recording is not the same to the resolution of an mp3, of course, this has been discussed before. But what happens with image? Filming does only belong to a larger public domain, well, we do not necessarily agree because not everyone has access to a video camera. Nowadays mobile phones have a whole lot of applications to shoot video at different resolutions and formats, generate effects, edit and other interesting options to let your movie creative passion break out Perhaps an image of democracy is defined by the same texture, the quality of its display, its same mistakes. We do not talk so vividly when creating a video or following the editing processes, so let´s talk about the image error, the lack of light, wrong angles and lack of a provision of what is and what is...Exhibition Imagenes en Lucha in Madrid
The Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo in Madrid is presenting the movie series Imágenes en lucha. Relatos de resistencia until the 3rd of FEbruary 2012. This movie exihibition commissioned by Céline Brouwez and Pablo Martínez seeks to expose those images that haven’t been taken up by circuits of image distribution like the movie theaters or television, but that show a different reality. We live in a society of images and every day we are being bombarded by them, but if we are being really honest how much do we know and see from reality? Very little. Today more than ever the image has become a fundamental instrument to capture daily facts and that thanks to mobile devices like cameras and cell phones. The questions that the creators of this circle had was “What happens with all the documentation of resistance that goes against what is allowed/legal or that simply are directed against the system that are not seen or aren’t wanted to be seen and remain hidden? The answer is very simple, they are waiting for an opportunity to be shown and there are thousands of people that are waiting to see this invisible world in the media and movie series. In realms of this series there are interesting exhibitions such as Fragmentos de una revolución that reveals images taken in Iran during the month of June in 2009 when the government manipulated the election results und thousands of civilianscame out to protest against the fraud standing up against political and military repression. On the streets without any official credential evidence it’s the civilians who construct a chronic...Jazz Festival in Madrid
