Maroon 5 in Helsinki

Maroon 5, an American band born in California, managed to gain great attention thanks to not only their pop music with touches of funk and rock, but also because its frontman, Adam Levine, managed to steal the heart of many women around the world with his risqué photographic sessions. Today, the artist not only lives off music but he also, on many occasions, works for different fashion labels. The band was born in 1994 with the name Kara´s Flowers but, in 2001, it became known like it is today. The first production, which they called ´Songs About Jane´, was presented in 2002, and they had instant success, taking them towards golden, platinum and triple platinum records in various countries in the world. Despite that the band got together over a decade ago, they only have three albums because they take a long time to produce them. For this reason, since 2002, when they released their first LP, until 2007, they didn´t release anything. That year they released ´It won´t be soon before long´ which has the famous hits ´Makes me wonder´, ´Wake up call´, ´Won´t go home without you´ and ´If I never see your face again´ among others. Their third and latest studio album is ´Hands all over´, which was presented in late 2010 and, also, enjoyed quite a bit of success. Many of their songs flooded the radio stations and are played all around the world. Today, the band is touring around the world to present it. Architectures of modernist Barcelona

Since the collapse of the walls in 1858 next to the medieval city of Barcelona, ??the Eixample (of Cerdà) is created. If we add the economic rise of the bourgeoisie and the desire  to turn Barcelona into a modern and cosmopolitan city it results in the impressive  development of architecture and the construction industry, which will culminate at the end of the century with the emergence of modernist architecture. But this spectacular  progress will not be free of speculation and the clear division of neighborhoods according to social classes, in 1897 with the Decree of aggregations. So decisive is the Pla Cerdà, that in 1871 the School of Architecture of Barcelona is founded. Previously lessons were given at the Llotja, but it will require the readjustment of the studing of architecture in Barcelona, ??as it was only possible in Madrid. Rogent Elias will be its first director and chooses  as a model the French Ecole Polytechnique. So, with a strong technical background and a deep theoretical study this school will form an entire generation of architects in this modernist city. The first generation of modernists architects are from 1875, Domenech i Montaner, Josep Vilaseca i Gaudí. Their works are defined as being medieval and eclectic. Proof of this lies in the Universal Exhibition of 1888 in the Ciutadella. That was the starting point of the first modernist examples, based on  a  traditional and autonomous language . After the Universal Exhibition in Paris in  1898, there arises, in Catalonia, the second modernism wave, which influenced by trends in the French capital, adopt a more international and cosmopolitan language. We are...

The Smashing Pumpkins in Berlin

Billy Corgan and his men come back together on this tour to present their latest work, Oceania, which is the ninth album from this band of alternative rock. Although this album had to be released in September, the launch was postponed to early 2012 (date tbc). This is a continuation of the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, a conceptual album of 44 songs that the group has returned to its roots and psychedelic influences. The Smashing Pumpkins is an American band, which is quite difficult to classify, because they have influences from grunge, gothic, psychedelic rock, and in their later albums also electronics. Its origin dates back to 1988 in Chicago to coincide with the grunge boom, and when they gave their first concert. In the beginning their music was heavily influenced by bands like The Cure New Order. Its founder Billy Corgan (guitar and vocals). The initial members were James Iha on guitar, D´arcy Wretzky on bass and Jimmy Chamberlin on the drums. Currently, the band also features keyboards and from the original members we can only see its founder, Billy Corgan, who besides being the singer, is the writer and composer of most conceptual issues and the architect of the group. Always worked to try to give some halo subversive to the band. Gish was their first studio album in 1991, with this album they were the opening band for Jane´s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N ´Roses. The Smashing Pumpkins broke into the mainstream music with their second album, Siamese Dream (1993). With their third album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) sold over 9...

He studied at the Kharkov Art College, being a pupil of Alexander Lubimov, the founding member of the OST and Oktiabr artist groups. His early drawings and paintings were made in black and white, caused much speculation and curiosity about the peculiarity of his work; however, this option was related to the shortage of materials. His prolific work includes large mosaic murals as the one at Mayakovskaya station in the Moscow metro. His monumental paintings such as The Defense of Petrograd and the Battle of Sebastopol are the most representative from one stage of his work. He received the Decoration of the Order of Lenin and the Order...
