Romantic Getaway in Paris with a Focus on Cuisine

Ah, Paris… the capital of love…
Have you recently been planning some time away with your love interest?

In this post, we suggest a romantic route with several suggestions for each meal of the day. See which of these fit your personality best.

For starters, what could be better than a good breakfast?

  • Le Claus : Typical French Breakfast (reservations are highly recommended) €14

14 Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 75001 Paris

  • Le grand café des Capucines : Typical Parisian Breakfast (€13.40)

4 Boulevard des Capucines, 75009 Paris

After a morning spent visiting the many romantic enclaves that abound in the city, like the Wall of Love in the 18ème, the Sacré Cœur, or the Museum of Romantic Life, it’s essential to stop at the Place du Tertre, in the Montmartre neighborhood, to admire the artists working on their paintings.

For lunch, two addresses you can’t miss out on:

  • La bonne franquette: An atypical place that is just perfect for enjoying traditional dishes. Price: €27

18 Rue Saint-Rustique, 75018 Paris

  • Soul Kitchen: Original decor and a ‘healthy’ themed menu. Price: €14

33 Rue Lamarck, 75018 Paris

And to aid with digestion, why not stroll down l’Avenue des Champs Elysées and do some shopping … The Passage Jouffroy is another place to explore. The special charm and unique atmosphere of this former gallery will have you immersed in an exotic universe.

Are you a little hungry?

Come snack time, two essential addresses: les maisons de pâtisseries Ladurée and Pierre Hermé, where you’ll come face to face with the popular macarons. In fact, they’re reputed to be the best in Paris. And, if you want to get creative, why not try Pierre Hermé’s creamy d’Ispahan macaron (yoghurt and rose, litchi, raspberry), or the amazing strawberry bonbon (a strawberry bonbon flavored marshmallow) by Ladurée. And for more classic palates, their excellent chocolate macaron is always an option.

The addresses:

  • Maison Pierre Hermé

18 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, 75004 Paris

  • Maison Ladurée

75 avenue des Champs Elysées, 75008 Paris (Ladurée)

Obviously, a Paris getaway could never be complete without visiting the Eiffel Tower.

Tip #1: book tickets in advance, to avoid the endless queue. And for the more active ones among you, take the stairs.

Now, all that’s left for you to do is to celebrate your love with a flute of real champagne.

A rooftop with magnificent views over Paris at night could never be more romantic.

  • LE GEORGES. 19 rue Beaubourg 75004 Paris

Tip #2: If you just want to delight in the views of Paris without having to drink anything, you can head up to the Galeries Lafayette rooftop, on Boulevard Haussmann.

To end the night in style, we suggest two dinner alternatives:

If you haven’t explored the Seine from a bateau mouche during the day, know that you can have dinner on one. Live music and sometimes even singers, to guarantee a romantic atmosphere. It’s best to book in advance. The price is approximately €100 per person.

Parisian cabarets are also essential. There are several, and among them, the best-known are the Moulin Rouge, the LIDO, and the Crazy Horse. Prices tend to be high, rounding the €170 per person (dinner + show), and ranging between €85 and €110 for just the show. The style of these cabarets differs markedly from one to the other. The Moulin Rouge is more French cancan, strass and gloss; whereas the LIDO is a lot more contemporary, with dancers and acrobats. The Crazy Horse features “the Art of the Nude” in action combined with light and sound shows.

Tip #3: And if instead of using public transport during the day, you want to try something a bit more romantic, you can ride around on a tuck tuck or on a 2CV!

After this long walk through the capital of love, we suggest a number of different romantic apartments in Paris that are just perfect for this getaway.
