Titanic The Exhibition in Barcelona

A story that touches thousands of people in the world, first for being real and secondly and more importantly, because it reminds us that, even though sometimes we believe, we are strong and invulnerable, we are only human, who make mistakes in a world in which we are just one specie among many others, which constantly reminds us of nature. This is the story of the Titanic, the largest and most luxurious ship in the world during the early twentieth century, the protagonist of one of the most instructive tragedies of human history.

It was in 1911 when the famous ship first touched the sea, after two years of construction, which was not completed after a year of being “thrown”. It was so advertised the safety of the new “monster” of the seven seas in many media of the time described it as “impossible to sink”. Unfortunately nature had different plans, which helped by the bad maneuver of a captain so-convinced of the titanic, led the ship to eventually brake in half the ship, while taking over 1500 people.

Titanic the Exhibition, reconstructs step by step the life of the ship, while telling visitors its history through real objects, maps, charts of the time, as well as pieces of the ship and most importantly, personal belongings of the passengers, both deceased and the survivors,  gathered in recent testimonies recorded after many years. Also, there are press releases that show the impact that caused the accident in the society, as well as recreations of the most luxurious ship.

The exhibition, which is already in the Barcelona Maritime Museum, will be on display until the 30th of September. Prices vary according to ages and groups, but the overall value is 12 Euros with guide.
