Red Garter is probably one of the most famous American-style bars in Florence. In this place you´ll find sufficient space and room to have a drink relaxed enough if you´re with your partner or have a lot of fun if you´re with you friends. The place is full, above all, of people who come from English-speaking countries and many go to the bar to enjoy the matches of the different sports that they show on the giant screens. The music that sounds is the mainstream one that broadcasts on many radios where they play pop and some weekends different DJs of relative importance turn up. Tabasco Disco Gay is one of the most well-known bars in the Florence nightlife although it doesn´t mean that it´s attended by everyone. The story of the place starts in 1974 when it opened it´s doors becoming the first gay disco in the Italian city. It´s situated close to Piazza della Signoria in the heart of Florence. Tabasco is located in the crypt of St. Cecilia where Dante met Beatrice. Its located is so centric but at the same time so isolated and hidden that many might go past it and not realize that they´re walking in front of one of the busiest bars. The decoration has many original items, like stones that are over 1500 years old, statues and ancient arches. In the bar you´ll meet very friendly people, the most exquisite drinks and rooms that project different curious videos. If you like late Renaissance or Baroque art, the Palatine Gallery that opened its doors in 1833 in Florence, is probably one of the best places that you can go to because its collection is full of works of art from these two periods. The place, which is located in the Palazzo Pitti, possesses no less than nineteen different rooms in the most important floor of the palace and some of them are,without doubt, the most beautiful of the place. Inside you can enjoy works from some of the most important artists, not only Italian but from around the world. Among those works there are many by Rafael, Tiziano, Botticelli, Caravaggio, Giorgione, Leonardo, Van Dyck, Tintoretto, Rubens and Veronese to mention a few. Many of the paintings that can be seen at the Palatine Gallery were donated by Anne Mary Louise of Medici, which near 500 works and by the wife of Duke Fernando II, called Vottoria della Rovere. Carlo Cracco, who was born in Vicenza in 1965, studied in the Istituto Professional Alberghiero in the north of Italy and after passing through many restaurants (both inside and outside the country) where he formed himself as a chef and acquired a very refined category, so he opened his own restaurant. Cracco, when he went back to Italy, worked in the Enoteca Pinchiorri and, during his time there, the place got three Michelin Stars. But years later, after having gone through many more places, the owner of a gourmet restaurant called Peck which opened in Milan in 1883, invited him to create the restaurant Cracco Peck and his reply was a positive one although in 2007 he went on to own the place and called it Cracco Restaurant. The place opened its doors in 2001 and it´s located in a very elegant part of the city. It presents some of the classic dishes of Milan´s cuisine but with a contemporary eye which is given by Cracco himself.
