The Palazzo Reale of Milan is, today, a cultural centre, home of art exhibitions and social and cultural events. In old times, the building was occupied by the government and administrative activities took place there, and nobody gave it the attention that it deserved. The Palace is in the Piazza Duomo, at a side of the Cathedral, very close to Vittorio Emanuele street. Part of its façade and interior was lost during the Second World War because of the incessant bombings that affected the city. The neoclassic style was lost near entirely but when they restored it and reformed it, the Palazzo Reale because beautiful again, inside and outside. In the 18th century, it was finished building and the entrance of the building is organized according to the cathedral that it has next to it. Piazzetta Reale is the name of the Palace today. Milan Cathedral, better known as the “Duomo di Milano”, is one of the world´s most beautiful churches. It´s gothic style and it´s grandeur make them unique in the city and it´s admired by Italians and tourists who come to see it. This cathedral is the fourth biggest in the world, behind the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican, St. Paul´s in London and Sevilla´s Cathedral in Spain. Although the construction of this temple started in the 14th century, it was only finished in the beginning of the 19th by the order of Napoleon who had become tired of seeing this Cathedral half-built.
