Roman Theatre

The Roman Theatre, located next to the Alcazaba, is one of the most important and visited monuments of the Spanish city, not only for its history but also for its beauty.   The Roman Theatre was built in the 2nd century but it was abandoned in the 3rd century. Luckily, the theatre, although abandoned, wasn´t knocked down and it wasn´t until 1951 that it was discovered because it had been buried and was completely hidden.   The place was found because the constructions of the Casa de Cultura and the Archivo and Biblioteca Municipal (Local Library) were taking place. If it hadn´t been for them, it would still be there waiting to be found.   The visit to the Theatre has a duration of approximately 30 minutes because the remains that are still there, have a radius of 31 metres and are 16 metres high. There´s also the Orchestra which is the lowest part of the stands where the more important people from that ancient society sat and the stage where the performances took place.   This construction, ancient like few, is one of the most important in the city and you can see the monument renting apartments in...

Ellis Island Immigration Museum

The Ellis Island Immigration Museum is one of the most important in the city of New York and it´s a place that had to be closed for years because, after its opening in 1892, it caught fire and, because of its wooden structure, it ended up falling down, although it opened its doors again in 1900.   Thanks to its interesting construction, the architects that were in charge of the projects, Edward Lippincott Tilton and William Alciphron Boring, received a golden medal. But the place was never given much importance until 1965, when Ellis Island was proclaimed part of the monument of the Statue of Liberty. Then, it all changed.   After a restoration that cost millions of dollars by the Finegold Alexander & Associates Inc. Company, the museum opened its doors again in 1990, offering an important series of exhibitions, as well as three theatres used for live presentations and cinematographic shows.   One of the most important places in the museum is the “Wall of Honor” on the outskirts, which possesses some of the names of the first immigrants that came to the island.   If you want to visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum, you can rent apartments in New...

The Alcazaba

The Alcazaba is an Arabic fortress situated in the Spanish city and it´s one of the most visited monuments of the place, which dates from the 11th century, built during the domination of King Badi, one of the ziri governors of Granada.   The Alcazaba, which was used as a governor´s palace in the city at that time, is the best preserved in the whole of Spain and it finds itself next to the Roman Theatre that dates of the 2nd century.   The place is located on a hill of the city that has views to the port and was connected, originally, with the walls that were there to defend the place from a possible attack.   The fortress, which can be observed from the old town part of the city, is made out of 30 towers and 20 fully fortified doors.  It was a true fortress developed with the best technology of the time.   Today, and since 1931, the Alcazaba of Málaga is considered a National Monument and Spanish Historical Heritage since 1949. For that reason it´s visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists each year that have the intention of walking through its ancestral galleries.   You can rent apartments in Málaga and enjoy one of the most important monuments of the...
