The Georg von Rauch squat is a good place to begin this adventure in Berlin. its vegetarian restaurant offers you a dish for only 2 euros, as well as live music and an atmosphere which has nothing to do with formal tourism. Tacheles was originally a department store called Friedrichsstadtpassagen, built in the Jewish district next to the synagogue, after having been a Nazi prison during the Second World War, which was partially destroyed afterwards. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was taken by artists and named Tacheles, which means ´speaking clearly´ in Yiddish. At Tacheles there are workshops, a club with live music and a cinema.
Bar Zapata is also unmissable for those who like to live the night in a special way. It´s next to Tacheles, which gives it a special touch, and it´s very attractive because it´s decorated by local artists. The entry price is 10 euros but without a drink. It´s important that you find out if it´s fully working because it´s an area which was being remodeled and it´s possible that some areas of this bar are no longer in working order.
Ritter Burzke is a cult place for those who like electronic music and dancing. It doesn´t need an address because it´s probably the best known club among the underground clubs in Kreuzberg. It has a unique architecture and, according to the fans, it´s the perfect place for those who like to dance to electro and house.
Farbenfernseher Techno Club is, as its name says, a club with live music and drinks which is secretly kept behind an old banner of an abandoned electronics shop in Kreuzberg, more specifically on Skalitzer Straße. The prices are good, 3 euros for an entry ticket, the same price as the beers and it´s open from Wednesday to Saturday from 9pm and on Friday and Saturday, wait for it, until 7am.
But if you like strong emotions and you want to try something different, I recommend that you go to the private club 2nd Face. It has an atmosphere which is only for people with formed criteria because it´s a bar for those who enjoy erotic fetish shows, with all of its range of S&M, bondage, trans and other techniques which belong to this trend.
