In 1905 the construction of the current Palau de la Música Catalan began, on top of the foundations of the convent of San Francisco in the gothic district of Born, in the city of Barcelona. The architect in charge was Lluís Domènech i Muntaner who was able to represent to perfection that will of the people and capture it in the building that we enjoy today.
Since its inauguration it housed the most important international and national music, theatre and dance artists, bringing concerts of all styles and musical genres. It hosted different cultural and social acts as well as exhibitions, congresses and conferences.
That´s why, the Palau de la Música Catalana is a historical and social gem of the city of Barcelona.

The permanent team of Palau de la Música is composed by various choruses and orchestras like the Orfeó Català and the Cor de Cambra. The concert programme per season is wide and varied and one could say that all the famous artists of the world performed on the stage of such a theatre.
