The Caños of Carmona are the remains of an aqueduct that the Romans created and that worked in the city of Sevilla until 1912, when they decided to demolish it. The place is one of the most famous tourist points of Sevilla for its interesting and rich history.
The place dates from 68 BC, date when the Roman city was led by Julius Caesar and had to be reconstructed subsequently by the Almohads in between 1171 and 1172 because, due to the passing of time, its state had deteriorated notably.
In time, the aqueduct was demolished because it was necessary to make that part of town more accessible and the year that it was demolished it was still in perfect use.
Today there are still three parts that are exposed along the road and that are maintained as monuments of the city.
