Venetian masks, used during the sumptuous carnivals of this impressive city, have surpassed their condition of a dressing object (only during one week a year though) to reach the condition of being art. The same that happens with the Japanese theatre ones known as Nô or Noh, the profane Venetian masks are made following a strict artisanal code which has been maintained for generations. The result is a spectacular, brilliant and precious object, suitable to collect.
The Venetian masks are used, even today, as an essential complement in the Carnival dresses, but they´re also starting to be wanted for posh parties like the ones which took place around Europe in the 18th century. Also, the shy traveller who doesn´t dare to use one of these masks, doesn´t have to give up wearing them because, by being so immensely spectacular, they can also be used as a decorating object. The company that I put forward here makes them in all types: covering the face completely, only as a mask, reproducing animals, inspired in Baroque and, also, as the Anonymous character which is so fashionable right now.
The City of the Canals has a lot to give. The best thing to do is book some of the magnificent apartments in Venice and, from there, go shopping and do artistic trips. They can also be used as your headquarters from where you can go out in fancy dress.
