The Casa Museo Lope de Vega, which is located in the Calle Cervantes in Madrid, opens every day from 9.30am until 2pm, except Sundays and closes in August. The museum is located in a 17th century building where the famous writer Lope de Vega spent the last 25 years of his life.
During these 25 years Lope de Vega wrote some of his best works, poems, essays or novels. Casa Museo Lope de Vega is interesting to visit because it reconstructs the life of the artist in 17th century Madrid and its gorgeous gardens.
The writer lived in this house from 1610 until 1635 and he became a priest, after the death of his second wife, despite his womanizing nature.
The house has big wooden blinds, ceilings with beams and very old stairs which crackle when someone goes up or down and walking through the place will automatically transport the visitor to the century that Lope de Vega lived in.
If you´re a fan of the author or you simply like literature or want to know how people lived so long ago when things were completely different to now, you can visit Casa Museo Lope de Vega but, for that, you need to rent Madrid accommodation
