The Rialto Theatre of Madrid will host the hit comedy “Dinner for Schmucks ”. From the 4th of July till the 5th of August, you will be able to attend this show, which is undoubtedly one of the most interesting comic performances of the year. Ninety minutes in which you won’t be able to stop laughing. Francis Veber, who also was responsible for his film version, wrote the original French work. The critics were agreed in giving the ” Dinner for Schmucks ” the award of successful show. Proof of this is that it started to be performed in other venues around the world and the film industry of the United States decided to shoot it again in 2010 to bring it to the big screen.
In Spain, the version has been renewed under the legendary production of Josema Yuste. As he confessed in one of his interviews, Yuste was captivated by Veber film from the moment he saw it. Finally, after several months of preparation, he could be surrounded by a large group of actors and comic artist, accompanying him on this new adventure. The three actors who star in the Spanish version are: Josema Yuste, Agustín Jiménez, “Felisuco” and Juan Solo. They have extensive experience in the entertainment world and, particularly, in humor pieces.
“Dinner for Schmucks ” tells the story of a group of friends who meet every Tuesday for dinner together. Each of them has to bring a new guest every night, but not just any; it should be a simple person to whom the hosts could laugh at. After dinner and once the guests have left, there is a debating on which of them deserve the award as the week’s idiot.
This cruel way of having fun is truncated to one participant in the game when he gets to know his candidate for the week. It seems that fate wants to take revenge on this cruel game and punished them with an avalanche of misfortunes. It seems that laughing at people has its price.
This very entertaining story in which the trickster is mocked and humiliated by a character unintentionally ends up teaching him humbleness, innocence and happiness.
