Folk is a musical style with sounds which are linked to nature, which rubs with accoustics at times and which, today, is experimenting an important rise with some bands which are at the head of this genre. One of these bands is, undoubtedly, Fleet Foxes, who were born in Seattle, Washington, in 2006 and after five years presented two albums which had considerable success.
The first one, a namesake album, was presented in 2008 and, in 2011, they released ´Helplessness Blues´, which was well received by both critics and fans.
It all started thanks to Robin Pecknold, who plays guitar and is also the voice of Fleet Foxes, and Skyler Skjelset, the other guitarist, since they both went together to Lake Washington High school in Seattle and, thanks to the mutual admiration that they had for Bob Dylan and Neil Young, they ended up making music together. The end result was what we all know today, Fleet Foxes. The rest of the band members are J. Tillman on drums, Morgan Henderson who is a multi-instrumentalist who is in charge of practically anything that´s necessary, Casey Wescott on keyboard and Christian Wargo on bass.
With only two albums, the band managed to achieve a few hits, such as ´Sun It Rises´, ´Ragged Wood´, ´Your Protector´, ´Montezuma´, ´White Winter Hymnal´, ´Helplessness Blues´, and many others.
Despite them having been making music for a while, they actually used to be called Pineapple, they became more and more famous at the end of 2006 when a journalist from the Seattle Times wrote about them making reference to the maturity of their lyrics and the quality of their music.
