Fontana de Trevi

The Fontana de Trevi, built in 1735 by the architect Salvi, is an icon of the city of Rome and all tourists go past there to see it.

The fountain was decorated by various student artists of Bernini and they worked the technique of low highlight in sculptures and rock. Although many don´t know this, the Fontana de Trevi is part of the decoration of the Palazzo Poli, although its charm and beauty hipnotizes the tourists and breaks their wishes of going to see the Palace.

The most interesting thing about the Fontana de Trevi are the myths that go around its waters. They tell the legend that if one drinks its water or throws a coin inside, it ensures their return to Rome. Another custom of the tourists is to throw a coin inside, from a distance, after making a wish. If the coin goes in, the wish will come true.

With the beautiful sound of the water falling and the lights illuminating every sculpture of the Fontana de Trevi, one would want to stay there forever. It´s a very romantic atmosphere, ideal to spend in twos.

If you rent apartments in Rome you´ll spend some beautiful days full of history and adventures.
