The Hungarian Natural History Museum (NHMUS according to its initials in Hungarian) is a natural history museum and its main task is to pick up, preserve and protect the historical material in relation to the country and introduce it to the people in a simple and easy way to comprehend.
In 1802 the count Ferenc Széchényi asked permission to the emperor for giving his collection of studies to the Hungarian nation and the permission was conceded.
