The Joan Miró Foundation is situated in the city of Barcelona and it possesses some of the most representative art works by this Spanish painter. It contains more than 10,000 pieces including paintings, sculptures and hangings. The collection completes itself with various drawings and sketches. The idea of creating the foundation was born in 1968 from the very own Joan Miró who wanted to convert it in an element that allowed to get to know art tendencies.
