The Museum of History of Catalonia, or MHC from its initials, offers a fascinating insight that will present you the whole history of Catalonia in a building called Palau de Mar which was used in the past for storage in the port and, interestingly enough, it´s the only one that still stands from the Port Vell, built in 1881.
The museum is considered one of the most interesting cultural attractions in Barcelona because it explains the history of Catalonia through an exhibition of objects, documents, recreations and atmospheres both visual and auditive. The idea of it all is to teach, in an interactive way, the culture of the place.
In the museum you can enjoy both temporal and permanent exhibitions. The permanent one is distributed in seven different galleries through which you will revive the historical elements that go from milling wheat to wearing armor from a medieval knight.
Catalonia is, without doubt, one of the most interesting chapters in the history of Spain and for that reason if you´re history lover you can´t not visit the Museo de Historia de Catalunya. Rent apartments in Barcelona and walk through the museum corridors.
