Autumn in Budapest means festival, and between the 8th and 17th of October, the Autumn Festival takes place there, where contemporary art an artists from 12 countries will gather and show new trends in dance, music, digital art and photography. This festival is now has been going on for twenty years in Europe´s festival programme and it has achieved a position which attracts contemporary art lovers from all over Europe who will enjoy this year with its 90 programmes of music, opera, dance, theatre and film. The abundant programme has interesting proposals, among which we can find the Austrian futurepop duo Mind.in.a.box, which will be playing on the 16th at Diesel Club. This electronic music band has established itself quickly on the world map, imposing new sound mixes which the two members, Stefan Poiss and Marcus Hadwiger, have created from their love of videogames, science fiction and futuristic imagination. Their album ´Lost Alone´ is already a classic among the fans and worshipers of this danceable electronic music genre. Another of the acts to highlight is New Music Studio 1970-1980, which presents itself with the concert of László Vidovszky and László Sáry, among eight other interpreters who will be on stage on the 15th of October at the Millenáris Teátrum. New Music Studio was founded in 1970 to gather the generation of post-war, avant-garde musicians. Without doubt, one of the most interesting contemporary dance shows is the presentation of Kris Verdonck, at...

And that´s how its diversity is what characterizes it the most, people from around the world live in its streets and share their things, making the area into a culturally rich place for everyone. There´s also a great offering of bars, restaurants and places to have fun, which are what makes locals and visitors happy. Among these is Pepino Bar, located on Nou de la Rambla 44. Pepino Bar offers a wide range of cocktails, especially the Gin & Tonics, which are famous in the neighbourhood, as well as mojitos that will give body and flavour to you all night. What´s interesting about Pepino Bar is the way in which it´s arranged. With three well-organized floors, you have different choices if you come here. The upper floor is full of tables so you and your friends can sit down, drink and chat, or even to spend a ´family´ moment if you fancy. Fantasy Film Festival in Sitges

Films can warn us about the future. They can show us what might one day be a reality. Because from past experience we know that what one human is capable of imagining the human race is often able to achieve sooner or later. Leonardo Da Vinci imagined the helicopter in 1493 and eventually it was made real. In his books Jules Verne predicted many modern inventions and discoveries: from videoconferencing and electric submarines to the moon landings. Today, cinema has taken the place of novels as the main provider of science fiction. Fantasy has been with us from the beginning of time, when myths were our foundation for understanding the world and the origin of things. Myths helped us understood the creation of the world, and they also explored how its destruction might come about. It is through myth that man came to understand his environment; and it is myth that gave a higher meaning to human existence, transcending the inevitable physical death of the body. Consider a film like The Matrix for example, which clearly refers to the universe of social networks and Internet navigation as a means of knowledge and liberation. It is unlikely that machines rule the world now, although it might be possible one day. Artificial intelligence continues to evolve while ours has come to a standstill. There is still plenty of time for our computers to rebel against us. However, The Matrix plays with levels of fiction regarding the network and its uses and users, and thus the purpose of the story is not fantasizing about Zion or the end of the universe but rather the possible fictions that the Internet...
