The Palazzo Reale of Milan is, today, a cultural centre, home of art exhibitions and social and cultural events. In old times, the building was occupied by the government and administrative activities took place there, and nobody gave it the attention that it deserved.
The Palace is in the Piazza Duomo, at a side of the Cathedral, very close to Vittorio Emanuele street.
Part of its façade and interior was lost during the Second World War because of the incessant bombings that affected the city. The neoclassic style was lost near entirely but when they restored it and reformed it, the Palazzo Reale because beautiful again, inside and outside.
In the 18th century, it was finished building and the entrance of the building is organized according to the cathedral that it has next to it. Piazzetta Reale is the name of the Palace today.
The doors of this beautiful palace are open to the public and everyone who wants to come inside to see it. It´s a tourist point that you cannot miss.
