If you are someone who likes to eat Italian food wherever you are, whichever the city you´re visiting, you cannot miss the delights of the Piazze D´Italia restaurant if you´re in Barcelona.
Located on Casanova 94, in the Eixample district, it offers the best in traditional Italian cuisine with an avant-garde vision that´s made it into one of the best.
Its owner, Nicola Marino, is very dedicated with natural flavours, fresh ingredients and the defense of true Italian cuisine, even being part of the association of Italian restaurant owners in Spain.
On its menu we can find exquisite antipastini (small starters), such as mortadella al tartufo or al pistacchi; antipasti (starters) such as the insalata di parimigiano, rucola e pere (parmesan cheese salad with rocket and pear) or the tuna or vegetable carpaccio.
As a starter you can also enjoy a variety or pasta, risotto and lasagna. Among these the risotto al nero di seppia (risotto with squid ink) and the taglioni freschi al gorgonzola e cipolla (fresh taglioni with gorgonzola and onion) stand out. As a main course the filetto alle cipolline balsamiche (fillet with balsamic spring onions) or the scaloppina saporite e rucola (veal escalope with rocket) are recommendable and, of course, as all good Italian restaurants, there are excellent pizzas.
Piazze dItalia is open from Tuesday to Sunday, but Tuesday only in the evenings, and its dish prices range from 6 to 15 euros.
If you´re spending a nice few days in apartments in Barcelona and you´re a fan of Italian food, you cannot miss Piazze D´Italia.
