Restaurante Al Café Lisbon

Al Café is a new space, inaugurated right in the heart of the city of Lisbon.

 

It was created by a young couple, a Portuguese woman and a Tunisian man, with the idea of showing the cultures and to coexist with friends and appreciate the typical cuisine and even to buy North African crafts.

 

The restaurant Al Café is made up of two rooms and a pleasant terrace that is right in front of the Cesário Verde Garden.

 

In the upper floor they serve faster food or more informal food and there´s also the cafeteria service, which is reserved for non-smokers. In the lower part there´s the Arabic room, a more intimate and cosy space where there´s also a bar and you can smoke.

 

The decoration has a highly Moroccan style, with large cushions on the floor, carved wood lamps and water pipes to smoke. The dominant colours are sandy browns and there´s a warm lighting.

 

On the menu there are the classic Middle Eastern dishes, hummus, couscous, chicken tagine, salads, dates wrapped in bacon and special rice, which is accompanied by wines or the traditional mint tea.
