Central Park is the most famous urban park in the United States and possibly in the whole world. Its well-deserved reputation is partly, due to the many cultural activities that take place in it all year long. Monuments and special areas in the park honor important people in arts and politics. A good example of it is William Shakespeare, who not only has a reserved space, the “Shakespeare Garden”, but also an entire festival dedicated to exalt his life and works, which are among the most famous anywhere in the world.
Shakespeare in the Park is a summer theater festival held every year at Delacore Theater in Central Park. A lot of the shows offer free entrance, which is one of the reasons of its total success. This festival is definitely one of the major summer festivals in the Big Apple, not only because of the quality of its shows, but also because of the performances by movie stars such as Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman, just to name a few stars of previous editions of the festival.

This is a work that can’t just be missed.

Love´s Labour´s Lost, a New Musical
With the book adaptation made by Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman´s music, this musical promises to be a show to remember. The King and the knights of Navarre made a pact to cloister themselves only to study for three years during which they will be subject to all sorts of privations, especially prohibiting themselves to “talk” to women. The problem arises with the arrival of the beautiful Princess of France and her ladies, who make it very difficult for the committed men to keep their word, while many funny situations are tastefully created.
All performances will take place at 8:30 pm and will run from the 23rd of July to the 18th of August. On some specific days, there will be Audio Described, sign language and open caption performances so everyone can enjoy this play.
As part of the festival program, some other events as the Public Theater Gala, Public Forum, Public works´ the tempest and Fall for dance will take place.
