Ski destinations for a fantastic winter holiday!

Winter is here and thinking of those folks who love skiing, we’ve listed some great destinations that are just perfect to practice all kinds of winter sports.

Lyon

The strategic location of Lyon, allows you to have access to a wide range of ski resorts, which are famous for their excellent conditions.  This ski area is just great for beginners, because it has many wide and gentle slopes. There are dedicated learning areas for beginners and local ski schools enjoy high reputation. Snowboarders find a paradise in Lyon and its surroundings. There are slopes to suit all abilities, as well as a considerable number of long steep descents and glacier skiing where many ski competitions are hosted every week.

Oslo

Surrounded by mountains, Oslo is one of Europe’s favorite locations to ski. The winter Olympics held in 1994 was a huge boost to the beautiful resorts you’ll find around the Norwegian capital.  The legacy of the Olympics means that Norway is totally equipped with great winter sport facilities. The excellent snow conditions you’ll find here ensure a long ski season from the middle of November to the end of April. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, you’ll always find something exciting to do here: Dog sledding, night skiing, ice skating and Snowkiting, are some of the activities you can enjoy, while spending a great winter break in Oslo. After the sun goes down, there are also plenty of activities to do in this exciting city. From a wide range of traditional lively pubs to international discos, as well as many great restaurants and cafés, it is not possible to get bored here.

Granada

Located right in the central area of the Penibetic Mountain, Granada’s Sierra Nevada offers 2500 skiable acres. This location is, by far, the best skiing area for professionals, and beginners in Spain. In Sierra Nevada you’ll find four green tracks (very easy), 18 blue tracks (easy to intermediate), 18 red tracks (difficult) and 5 black tracks (very difficult), which are distributed throughout the park, which has a top elevation of 3282 meters and a minimum of 2100 meters. This is definitively a great option if you want to enjoy winter sports in the Spanish mountains.

 

Bansko

Bansko, the most desirable ski resort in Bulgaria, offers a very unique mix of natural sights, top-notch facilities for winter sports and a great family-friendly atmosphere. The impressive Bansko’s ski infrastructure is at the level of many top European resorts; it has a large number of very well prepared ski tracks that added form a total of 17 kilometers, all available for your entertainment. Basko is a great option for short ski break with family and friends.

 

Brasov

Surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, Brasov is one of the main locations for skiing in Romania. This is a charming place that skiers come to and return again and again. Good weather for winter sports, well developed ski tracks and breathtaking landscapes, are just a few of the reasons why thousands of people choose this destination for their winter vacations. Also, in Brasov, everything from basic holiday cost to ski school, eating out and partying is way more affordable, compared to many of its ski counterparts and at fairly good standard of quality. This is a great option for a budget ski adventure.

 

Zakopane

Zakopane is the famous Poland’s winter sport capital. With a blessed location at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, near the border with Slovakia, this beautiful Polish town is a very popular destination among European Skiers. With many kilometers of ski trails to suit most levels of skier, this resort is perfect for mixed ability groups.
