The Torre de la Plata is one of the most relevant monuments of the city of Sevilla and the place is visited by thousands of tourists every year to get to know its history, construction and art.
The Tower is an octogonal-shaped building that was built in the 13th century which is located in Santander street and it united, thanks to the wall that was there at the time when the Romans were in the city (of which there are still remains of it), with the Torre del Oro.
The place was used until not long ago as a place where the homeless and people without a home rested, ate and cleaned themselves up and due to the vegetation that there is in the place where it was built, the construction deteriorated notably little by little with the passing of time.
Today the tower possesses a patio which has, as well, a stationing that used to be a blacksmith´s in the 17th century.
The Torre de la Plata, despite being semi-abandoned, is still in its best moment and it can maintain the importance that it was given in the past, in Roman times. If you want to see a construction with plenty of history, get Seville accommodation and give it a chance.
