Columbus Circle Fountain is one of the most beautiful and commemorative monuments in the city of New York. It was a gift from the Italians to the Americans in the 19th century in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America. You can see in the great statue of Cristopher Columbus that rises on the tip of the fountain, that he´s standing straight in front of the world with an air of conquest on his face. Grand Army Plaza is an area in Central Park, just at the entrance, where there´s a monument that honours the work of General William Tacumseh Sherman.
