The Museu do Oriente (Oriental Museum) defines itself as a permanent exhibition unit, open to the public with the aim to value all the prints that the Portuguese left in Asia.
This international museum exhibits over a million artistic and documental objects, related to history, art, anthropology, culture and oriental religions.
In the auditorium of the Museu do Oriente various shows take place for different crowds, with dance events, theatre, music, puppet shows and cinema. During summer they organise jazz and classical music concerts.
If you wish to assist to one of the shows that the museum organizes, you can stay in any of the apartments in Lisbon that we have available and make the booking by telephone.
On Thursdays they have a special activity which is a guided visit to the museum followed by a supper at the restaurant, which has a beautiful view over the river. It needs a minimum of four participants and it costs 25 euros all included.
Inside the museum there are various services available for the comfort of those who visit it. It has a cafeteria, a restaurant, a shop, elevators for people with reduced mobility and ATMs.
