Musée d´Histoire Contemporanie

The Musée d´Histoire Contemporanie, like its name indicates, is a museum that presents works of art related to contemporary history and it´s located in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris. The place is open every day except on Mondays and the entry is completely free.

The museum was established in 1914 as a library and war museum and it became part of the Public Ministry of Education in 1917. Currently the museum holds no less than one and a half million objects and documents that go from 1870 until today and it covers the most important historical moments that France went through.

The collections are related with politics, society and culture through paintings, historical documents, sculptures, objects, drawings, prints, posters, photographs and postcards.

But as well as presenting the permanent collections that are exhibited all year long, there are also some temporary ones related to some theme in particular of France and its history.

If you like history then the Musée d´Histoire Contemporanie is a place that you can´t not visit.

You can rent apartments in Paris and enjoy all of these paintings and relics that are from some of the most important moments in French and world culture.
