El Quim de la Boquería is a restaurant that has plenty of history. Born in August 1987, it slowly grew as well as becoming one of the most important restaurants in the whole city of Barcelona. Today it´s part of its history and its dishes are consumed by practically all tourists and locals that are in Spain.
The restaurant is located, hence its name, in the Boquería Market, which goes back to the Middle Ages. Actually, the first piece of news that we have of it goes back to 1217. The market is huge and, as many say, it´s a small town inside a big city. That´s where we find El Quim de la Boquería.
During many years the place only had a small bar where they served fast food for people with little time, but, with time, the owner decided to go big and make something up for more people. That´s when it became a restaurant that´s in charge of giving customers the typical dishes of Mediterranean food.
Not only for its history but for the exquisiteness of its dishes, El Quim de la Boquería is a must, and to visit it you just have to rent apartments in Barcelona.
