Alecrim 50 is a modern art gallery that was inaugurated in 2006 and is located in Chiado, one of the most attractive areas in Lisbon, more specifically on Rua de Alecrim 48/50. The gallery is directed by Alexandra Serôdio Gomez and Pilar Norton, who make up an excellent team for the choosing and promotion of the artists and their works.
Among the objectives determined by Alecrim 50 is to be a space where they can develop and promote contemporary art in a viable way. For that, it has various fields: painting, sculpture, photography, installation and design.
Every year they carry out close to six individual and collective exhibitions. For each exhibition they design catalogues with the mark of the work and the artist, giving out complete information elaborated by specialists. Following its innovative line, every year they carry out a theme exhibition that gathers the works of outstanding artists and emerging ones.
One of the most innovative proposals of Alecrim 50 is ´art rental´, a way of promoting art through the rental of works to companies or corporations that want to show a pleasant and modern image that gives value to their own corporate image.
