The Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery) has one of the most important and imposing neoclassic constructions in the whole of Berlin. The building in question was inaugurated in 1876 and it houses a large art gallery of the most important artists of the whole of the 19th century.
The place is distributed in two floors. On the first floor the visitors will be able to enjoy some of the paintings and sculptures from the leading artists of realism in the 19th century, and of other famous artists like Adolph Menzel.
On the second floor the visitors will find a place full of statues and the room that´s ahead is full of works from the so called Roman-Germans who lived at the beginning of the century in question and, also, some of the impressionist native French painters.
Some of the most relevant artists exhibited in the Alte Nationalgalerie are Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Carl Blechen, Caspar David Friedrich and Max Lieberman.
If you´re a lover of painting the Alte Nationalgalerie is, above all, one of the most important museums in Berlin because its galleries are full of works from some really important artists. You can rent apartments in Berlin and enjoy the place.
