Bargello Museum

The Bargello Museum is the second most visited in the whole of the city of Florence. It´s housed in a building that dates of 1255 and that in the 16th century was converted into the Bargello residency (that was, at the time, the most important police place) and that, at the same time, was used as a prison.

Some time after, in the 19th century, they donated this place to the National Museum and they transformed it into the splendid place that it is today and that houses some of the most important sculptures and decorative art in the world.

The visit to this place starts in a beautiful patio that gives way to the lower floor. In this place you can enjoy exhibited works by artists such as Michelangelo. Among them there´s the bust of Brutus or the statue of David-Apolo.

There´s also some of the first works that Donatello created, on the first floor, and among them is a statue of David made of marble, a statue of Saint George and another one of David in bronze.

This is one of the museums of the Italian city that you cannot miss because not only because the works that it presents are invaluable to the art world but also because the building where it is located is a true monument in itself.

You can rent apartments in Florence and be able to walk through its galleries.
