Amsterdam Fashion Week

Without doubt, Amsterdam is a city best known for its coffee shops and its red light district more than its other attractions. However, its cultural and entertainment event offering is very broad, and it deserves more attention.

 

For example, one of the festivals with the most success and whose attendance is bigger every year is the Amsterdam Fashion Week. It´s an event dedicated exclusively to fashion and glamour in all of its variations, which proposes a series of activities – some more exclusive than the others and reserved for the VIPs, and other more accessible ones.

 

Every year the event takes place at the beginning of the year and, the next edition, will take place between the 25th and 29th of January 2012. Parallel to the Amsterdam Fashion Week, there´s also an off-schedule event, which is a series of events which take place aside, but which are strictly linked to the AFW.

 

It´s called ´Downtown´ and it´s precisely the part which is open to the public that you´ll be able to visit freely if you fancy. Undoubtedly, when it gets closer to the date, you´ll be tempted to leave your apartments in Amsterdam to enjoy the fancy surroundings of the AFW.
