If you are staying a little further away or don´t like to walk you can also take the tram no 15 or the buses no 28, 714, 727, 729 or 751.

The Electricity Museum opened its doors in the city of Lisbon in 2006, in a beautiful building with a striking façade.

The museum building housed decades ago the ´Central do Tejo´, a thermal power plant with pioneer staff at the time in the domination of the production of electricity. Today this space presents a route around the equipment and spaces that were part of the power plant and its running, as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions regarding energy and the environment.

Another of the rooms of the museum is dedicated to various area like renewable energies, the exhibition dedicated to the scientists who contributed to the development of the phenomenon that is electricity and the experiments core, where you are allowed to ´play´ with some electrical gadgets.

Inside the museum there´s also a restaurant. It opens it doors from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 6pm.
