The United Nations University

The United Nations University is not just a symbolic building of Tokyo’s panorama, but also an important educational center that organizes international conferences on global issues and public interest. If you want to investigate issues related to human rights and global concerns, there you will find an excellent library open to the public. During the weekends, in the square just in front of the building, you can enjoy one of the most popular green markets of the city.

Zojoji Temple

Zojoji is the main temple of the Jodo Buddhist sect. Located in the Kanto area, Zōjō -ji has witnessed countless historical events since its construction in 1393. Although the building that we see today is a reconstruction made in 1970, it still keeps the famous Zojoji Sangedatsumon, the oldest wooden structure in Tokyo dating from 1605. The temple is divided into 3 sections, which are a representation of the 3 stages one needs to reach to achieve nirvana. This museum is the perfect place to come with your family and learn a little more about the history of Tokyo.

Mejiro Teien

For those who are tired of the noise and crowds of the city, Mejiro Teien is just what you were looking for. Adorned with colorful trees and beautiful ponds, Mejiro Teien is one of the favorite places for locals to take a break and breathe fresh air in the city. If you want to make a picnic or go for a walk with your family, this beautiful garden will delight you.

Kasai Rinkai Park

This is one of the largest and most popular parks in the Japanese capital. Located on the Bay of Tokyo, it is constantly visited by sportsmen who enjoy its green landscape, while running in morning. There is an aquarium located right in the center of the park that you’ll want to visit especially if you come with children. Take a ride on the Ferris wheel from which you will see beautiful views of the city and the ocean. Tokyo Disney Land is very close to the park, should you want to complete a day of pure entertainment.

Bank of Japan

The Bank of Japan consists of two buildings: the new and the old. The new wing is where all regular bank activities occur, and the old wing bank is an important historic building that dates back 1896. This construction was extremely modern at its time and remains as an invaluable architectural gem for the cultural heritage of Tokyo.
