Between the 10th  and the 16th of October, The International Theatre Festival of Venice which is held every year in the framework of the activities of the Venice Biennale and cultural encounters in the fall will be held. The  director, Catalonian Alex Rigola is the brain of this year´s event, which summons major directors, choreographers, actors, architects, playwriters, and lighting experts to create a space for debate and discussion on the direction of the performing arts, in a space where the division between the different artistic representations it is increasingly blurring
They have prepared 40 workshops, seminars and daily meeting sessions in a sequence of 5 activities per day. From these intense debates conclusions and agreements will be published

The full program offers important plays, such as the classic Shakespeare play Hamlet, led by the company Schaubühne of Berlin. This German company directed by Thomas Ostermeier, is known to develop classic theatrical representations adapted to post-modern times. This proposal is recognized worldwide for the wonderful ability to maintain almost intact the  texts, and fitting them perfectly into current situations. This play will be presented on October 10 at the Goldoni Theater.

Another great presentation is Isabella´s of the Needcompany Company, directed by Jan Lauwers. Founded in 1986 by Joan Lauwers in Brussels in collaboration with Grace Ellen Barkey as a theater and dance group, which is characterized particularly by its language and the various techniques used in their productions. Needcompany has created and produced musical plays, visual arts, performing arts and film. Additionally, a laboratory for exploration is available where you can create different projects. Isabella´s will be presented on October 9th at the Teatro alle Tese.

On the 11th of  October at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale you can see the play Prometheus Landscape II represented by the Belgian company Troubleyn directed by Jan Fabre. The interesting work of Fabre brings us to war as a form of domination in the interests held by a small group of people belonging to a fictitious nation. It is an interesting proposal in which lighting plays a key role in the play.

On the 14th of October at the Goldoni Theatre the play Disappear is presented by the Barcelona International Theatre Company. The company is composed of 18 institutions in Europe and the United States that develop plays for the stage production. The multilingual productions project is based in Barcelona.

Besides these works there will be five premiere companies from Spain, Italy, Germany and Argentina.
