The Museo del Traje is a modern institution that offers in its permanent exhbition a trip through the history of Spanish fashion and costumes from a long time ago up until now.
The museum was founded in 2004 although the clothes that it shows are from 1925. The building where it´s located is a modern construction created by the architects Jaime López de Asiaín and Ángel Díaz Domínguez and you can enjoy it on a sunny day since it´s surrounded by extensive gardens.
Thanks to the vitality and quality of its collections, the museum reached a very important cultural position in Madrid. These costume collections are very diverse and they range from historical, contemporary, traditional clothes, jewelry, accessories and a great quantity of objects that were used when getting dressed.
But the place also offers a great quantity of temporary exhibitions that are dedicated especially to a person or a theme in particular.
