The day of the Patron Saint of Milan, during the time of the wise Dr St Ambrose, they inaugurate one of the most important Christmas fairs in Italy. It´s the Oh Bej! oh Bej! Market, which translated into English would mean ´How beautiful! How beautiful!´. And so, from the 7th of December in the surrounding areas of Sforza Castle, this charming Christmas fair takes place, where you can buy typical products from this time of year: from wooden toys to typical sweets as well as all sorts of crafts. Their exclusive Christmas decorations deserve a special mention, or, even better, the different figures which make up the typical Mediterranean Nativity displays. The traveller must remember that, in Italy, following Neapolitan tradition, these figures are made with great realism, mixing paper mache with clay. The models are wearing clothes made by hand especially for them.
Even if the traveller finds himself in one of the apartments in Milan /span>, they can try out these beautiful Nativity displays in their provisional home, and get an idea of what it will look like once they get home. And for sure that at the Oh Bej! Oh Bej! Market they´ll find original and handmade gifts for the whole family and friends.
