There are bands that we forget about for a while and that we think that they´re finished. Suddenly they surprise us with a new album and, more importantly, another unforgettable tour from a band with so much history and legendary songs such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who are back with a tour around Europe and North America that will satisfy their fans. They will travel to Europe on June 26th and will return to their homeland in November 2012. Two of the most highly-awaited concerts will take place on the 4th and 5th of May at Prudential Center, New Jersey, south of New York City.
The new album that they´re going to present is called ´I´m With You´, and it has been brewing and previewing since 2011. Before this, due to their 2 year break, rumours were going around that the legendary band were going to split up because their guitarist John Frusciante had announced that he was leaving the band and although at first no substitute was announced, they named Josh Klinghoffer as Frusciante´s replacement, who would also be on piano and chorus as well as guitar.
With the band rolling once again, their return to the stages was announced to present their new album, called ´I´m With You´, with a homonymous tour that started in Bogotá, Colombia, in September 2011. ´The Adventures of Raindance Maggie´, one of their singles, quickly rose to #1 and finally, the album was released in August 2011 and with songs such as ´Monarchy of Roses´ one can say that it was worth the way. ´I´m With You´ is the band´s 10th album and it seems that life and death is the main subject of the songs.
It seems that it was complicated to name the album and that there was a lot of indecision. They nearly called the album after one of the songs when Klinghoffer suggested ´I´m With You´, a name that everyone agreed on due to it being open and positive as well as being open to many interpretations. It also seems that the new band member has adapted perfectly and that the band´s fans haven´t noticed the change at all. The thing is that the band haven´t taken many risks with the album so it can be labelled an album of continuity that offers just good rock. According to some critics that appeared in Rolling Stone, the album could have been a lot better because it´s full of great ideas that haven´t been finished off properly. We´ll just have to find out for ourselves, and if it´s in the New Jersey concert, all the better.
Finding apartments in New york will be easy and cheap, so if you want to go and watch the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, you´ll do well in taking this into account.
