Every year when our vacation time comes, most of us face the same dilemma: whether we go to a place we already know and where we feel very comfortable, or we decide to go ahead and discover a new destination. For those folks who love discovering new places, here are five destinations that will make your holidays truly spectacular.

1. Arcos de Valdevez -Portugal

Arcos de Valdevez is a beautiful town located in the Minho region, right next to Peneda Mountains and the banks of River Vez. Containing 51 civil parishes, this small and charming village has an incredible geographical variety that attracts thousands of tourists round the year. Castles, towers, bridges, shrines, and even remains of ancient civilizations can be found here. Don’t forget to try the famous vinho verde and pay a visit to the beautiful Church of the Espírito Santo and  the Peneda-Gerês National Park.

2. Grebaštica-Croatia

Grebaštica is a picturesque village and one of the most famous places of the Šibenik Riviera. Constantly inhabited since the Roman times, the city will tell you its story through its architecture and ancient monuments.

When in Copenhagen you should pay a visit to Statens Museum for Kunst (National Gallery of Denmark), which apart of being an architectural gem itself, houses the country´s best art works. But if you want to visit one of the most picturesque places in the city, you have to visit the Christian´s Harbor, a man-made island built during the 17th century as a military fort that became the working class neighborhood of the 20th century.
